You’ve built something. But you’re not sure what it really is yet.
See your venture clearly and decide The Next Move.
For solo builders and early founders who’ve started building, but aren’t clear on who it’s for or where it goes next.
AI tools make building easier than ever. Choosing what’s worth building is still the hard part. That’s where The Next Move comes in.
This is how it works
We work through your venture together over two focused sessions.
Session 1:
We map visually what you’ve built - the product, service, the thinking behind it, and the different directions it could go. Most people realise quite quickly where things have become muddled or overcomplicated.
Between sessions, things settle. Patterns become clearer.
Session 2:
We make decisions. What this actually is, who it’s for, and what to do next - including what to stop doing.
You leave with a clear direction, not just more ideas.
“Steve helped me see what really mattered and stop chasing every new idea.”

“We were in a bit of a rut, Steve got us thinking differently and clearly - now we’re thriving”

Ways we work together
The Next Move Session
A focused working session for builders who have created something but aren’t yet sure what the venture really is. You may have built a prototype, a tool, a community, or an early product. The hard part now isn’t building more but stepping back and making sense of what you’ve created.
What we do
• Look at what you’ve built so far
• Explore what the venture could become
• Identify the real opportunity
• Decide what the next move should be
You leave with a clearer view of the venture and the decisions that matter next.
Who this is for
This session is designed for people who have something and are asking questions like:
• Is this actually a venture or just a project?
• Who is this really for?
• Which direction should I take this?
• What should I focus on next - and what should I ignore?
Format
Two short sessions - usually separated by a week
(for meaningful reflection)
Session 1: mapping the venture and exploring the opportunity
Session 2: returning with a fresh perspective to clarify the next move

The Next Move Sprint
Sometimes the session reveals something bigger.
You may realise the venture has real potential, or that there are several directions it could go. When that happens, some founders choose to continue the work through a short Next Move Sprint.
This is a deeper collaboration where we explore the venture more fully and shape what it could become.
During the sprint we typically look at questions like:
• What kind of venture is this really?
• Who is the ideal customer?
• Where is the real opportunity?
• What should the venture focus on next?
The goal isn’t to create a business plan. It’s to bring the venture into clearer focus so you can move forward with confidence.
The sprint usually takes place over a few sessions across two to three weeks.

“I help founders make sense of what they’re building before they spend more time building it.”
Most of the people I work with have already built something, but it’s become harder to explain what it is and where it’s going. That lack of clarity shows up in the product, the messaging, and the decisions that follow.
I help people step back and make sense of what they’ve actually built. We map it out, strip away the noise and focus on what matters so you can make a clear next move instead of pushing in uncertain directions. It’s hands-on - we work through the product, the thinking behind it and the options in front of you.
My background is in design, strategy and facilitation, so I’m used to working through messy situations and helping people see them clearly. I’ve done that inside organisations and with people building things on their own, and in most cases the momentum shift comes from getting to something simple enough to act on.
Insights
Are you building a product or building a business?
You've built something real. But the direction isn't quite clear yet. I’ve answered a few questions you should consider before you build anything else.
Before you build more: Walk through one customer’s day
A quick, human‑centred exercise to pressure‑test your idea against one real person’s day. Forget personas for a moment…see where your product truly fits (or doesn’t) before you sink more time into building.
‘Interesting’ is not traction
You showed it to people. They liked it. Someone asked for a demo. And then nothing. You've been building features since, because that feels more useful than sitting with the question underneath it all.
That gap has a name. You know what you've built. You just don't know what it is yet.
